randy moon's "Whatever Happened to Profile Customization?" came across my YouTube feed and spured this rabbit hole. I really agreed with their points that we are quickly losing online spaces that we can customize like our bedrooms. They meantioned neocities but I kind of put off learning more. Then I found CINNIMANI's "how to make a neocities from scratch" video. I wanted to learn more but got a little intimidated by learning. I created my neocities account and made a very basic webpage that only said "cock and balls"

After a few days of watching videos on neocities and how to do some html and css stuff I decided to start actually figuring out what to do. I watched GurenChamp's "I learned to code with Neocities"video and I started to feel like I can do it. I started doing the same freecodecamp classes that he did. I completed the "Learn HTML by Building a Cat Photo App" course.

I started the Devlog because I figure this will be interesting to look back on. This will be the first real update to my website since the "cock and balls" fiasco. I also finished the "Learn CSS by Building a Cafe menu" course! :))

I added a futaba web badge and it made me want to redecorate in a futaba theme!:) I think it looks a little ugly still but it feels more personal now. I also added a few classes to make future development of the devlog easier. I added a "Yeah!" button to press in case u really like my site! I finished the "Learn CSS Colors by Building a Set of Colored Markers" course.

I haven't done much on the website in a bit due to finals. But those are all done and I probably passed my classes so development resumes! I'm completeting more coding classes. I made some updates offline to make the links look prettier. I also updated the "Yeah!" button! I added a new, dedicated devlog page! The home page is now ugly and devoid of content but at least I have an idiot sandwich. Be careful though, he does strange things when he is clicked.

I spent WAY too much time trying to get the bio section of my home screen to be two seperate columns. After around an hour of googling and trying code snippets, it turned out the first thing I found was correct. I will reflect on my hubris and train my dumb brain. It turned out that I needed to tell the left section to align left even though I assumed it would be the default. In any case now I have a method to display things on my home page :) this will surely damage the trout population! I also finished the "Learn HTML Form by Building Registration Form" course.

Broke the home page for 40 minutes :( I wanted to put the columns in divs or smth so that I can maybe add an infinite number of boxes to each column. It didn't work the way I thought then it broke for some reason even though it was the same code. I pretty much just redid the column css. then the footer wanted to be in the middle of the page so I had to specify to the site that footers go at the foot of the page. Dumb as hell

Got distracted :) I finished the "Learn the CSS Box Model by Building a Rothko Painting" course! It was surprisingly short. I'd like to make a drop down menu based on either year or month so browsing the Devlog is easier. I can tell this will be very hard to read a month from now. I also completed the "Learn CSS Flexbox by Building a Photo Gallery" course. Got a some good ideas. YAHOOO I'm goated. I made the blocks round :) I am also getting really close to fixing it for mobile. Flex boxes are rizz. downside is that it is broken :( upside is that it is now consitently broken :) so if I can fix it, it *should* be fixed everywhere. YAHOOOO!!! I made everthing align more or less how I want on both pc and mobile :) I can't get the font sizes right. Idrk how to get that because % vw vh and px can't really compromise how I want so far. I want my site to look how i want no matter what and all I can figure out is how to make only one look good.

Worked on the home page some more. I think I'm getting somewhere. The text size isn't right still. I played around with "em" but it's still not good. I got distracted and implemented shorthard margin and padding stuff. My code is pretty now :) I want to revamp the site theme a little, maybe I'll do that today

I'm a fool... A huckster and a rogue... my text spacing issue was because I was using unordered lists for the bio blocks. I admit it was out of laziness. I wanted to use them for the lists but just used them for the non lists element because it was easier to just do all their css at the same time. Foolish... anyways it's fixed. p elements work so much better. Thank you all for all your hate mail. I'm aware that I am a quote, "awful scourge on the world of programming" It warms my heart to see I'm connecting with my fans.

I started creating my portfolio page! I forgot that the portfolio page was one of the biggest reasons I started making this site :) it's suuuuuper ugly rn but yeah, check it out in like a week :) the school semester also starts in 2 days so I will likely not update this site nearly as often. I'll try to remember u :p

okay :) so I changed a lot of how some stuff aligned. the nav bar aligns center. I've done my best to format the site so there's no horizontal scroll bar. The portfolio page looks real good now. AND it works on mobile and web!!! so It's officially ready to be judged :p I'll add more films to it when i get a chance. I also want to give each film, or maybe just he important ones, their own page where the video player is bigger and easier to read about. with that I start school tomorrow :) which means I might not update too much :( I also don't have too many ideas as to what else to put on my site. An about me page? I'll look around at other sites on neocities and steal if it comes down to it >:)

Wow I didn't realize that it's been so long since I updated my site :D I have made some changes!!! I added a treecko to my nav bar! it replaces the home button! click him and you will be safely returned to my home page :)) In the process i have completely fucked my nav bar so sorry to mobile users but I really don't know how to fix it quite yet. I also changed programs from brackets to phoenix code finally after brackets kept pestering me to switch over. I like it lots. I installed a mobile preview viewer but it doesn't use any of my css so it's pretty much useless. I shall return for this site soon but for now I have a helpful treecko and an ugly mobile site :p I discovered insect.christmas and I love it so I want to take and steal and pillage!! but I will resist and instead copy some of her pages. I'll try to start with her "thoughts" page if I have time because that's super easy and a really fun part of her site :p bye :)

I added a thoughts wall while in class :) I'll continue to refine it because it was SUPER EASY so i think i should challenge myself with it. In other new I am a fucking NUMPTY!!! I have been tearing my hair out about how the home page columns freaked out everytime i tried to make any changes, It has been my fault the whole time. The boxes are divs contained by either a left floating div or the right floating div. For some reason I was tring to get the boxes themselves to float and not their containers. I am a fool once again but luckily it is fixed now and i can go on with my life.

It's been a VERY LONG time since my last update but rest assured I have been updating my site offline. only problem is that I don't exactly remeber what I did lol. I made a comment section but it doesn't work like at all yet so don't appear on my doorstep one rainy night to beg me to respond to ur desperate comments, I couldn't read them if i wanted. they aren't stored until i figure out how to do that and if Neocities even allows me to do that. I convinced my silly friend Rebecca to learn HTML and make a neociites site. I've linked her site in a new section for all my cool web dev friends :) I also started to do some freecodecamp classes again. I finished "Learn Typography by Building a Nutrition Label" today :) it took way too long.
